Hi all,
Was meaning to put this up earlier. With the change of the hour (and hopefully a concurrent change in the weather at some stage) and the return to race action, some of us may be looking for some different training of a saturday morning. Maybe!!?!
I am volunteering to put on Brick Sessions - run, bike, run - on saturday mornings, starting at 8.30. First session to run on Saturday 3rd May
If you're at all interested, would you post to this thread, if the numbers are there, then I'll run the sessions.
Thanks Killian

A brick session is doing two different thing's one after another, run then bike then run same as duathlon. I think pat does a beginners on suday's.

Hi - a few of us have planned a few brick casual sessions on Sunday mornings to co-incide with the Harriers run at Belvedere.
Cycle (distance TBD) - to transition at Belvedere around 11am and run 3k,6k, or 9k+ . Coffee and chat available , and then a leisurely spin home.
NB. We are not strong cyclists.
Enda

The idea behind the Brick Session is to simulate race conditions and train your body to be used to the transition from bike to run. Ideally, the session would be run at a race pace, without pause to maintain your heart rate, its important not to let your heart rate dip too much. Session: X Initial warm up jog - about 2km X Run at race pace - about 1 km X Bike for about 20 minutes as a group at race pace X Run at race pace - about 1 km X Get to practice two transition in this system too

Two other things,
1. Anyone taking part in the Brick Session should be a member of Triathlon Ireland
2. The session will run so long as we have numbers - thats to be determined

JP, Apologies!! It will run out of Lilliput Adventure Centre, handy spot and reasonably quiet roads in the locality
