Dear All,
Please see below a message from a fellow triathlete Eoin Ryan undertaking a mammoth task. He is looking for some help in raising money for some very worthy causes. It will involve giving up some time on the weekend of 22nd June next. If you are interested in helping out in any way, please contact Eoin directly (see contact below). You can also post messages of support here
Thanks
Brian
I was wondering if I might ask you fella’s for some help.
I’m doing an event for charity that involves me running 6.5marathons in 6 days along the canals of Ireland .
Starting in Dublin I will run the length of the Grand Canal to the Shannon and then run from Longford back to Dublin on the Royal Canal .
Money goes to 2 x charities: 75% to Crumlin Childrens Hospital and 25% to a home for Abandoned and Disabled children in Argentina (founded by an Irish Priest)
Ye may have seen the article in the Irish Runner magazine (March/ April)
The website has most of the info www.irishultrarunner.com
We have Bucket collections in Naas, Edenderry, Tullamore, Mullingar, Maynooth and Longford. Each one coincides with the day I pass through the towns.
The day for the collection in Mullingar is Sunday 22nd June.
It would be great if the Harriers and Midlands Tri could help to look after the collection in Mullingar. We are staying Sunday night in the Mullingar Park hotel. I reckon it would be a great opportunity to get some positive publicity for the two clubs. We will be engaging with all local media.
I’d be very grateful if your clubs could provide volunteers? (We’d then get a count on the number of buckets and tshirts you’d need for the day from you and send them down).
Hope to hear from ye soon.
Regards
Eoin
Brian – I got your email from the TI website. I’m a member of 3D tri – maybe you might remember this thing I did last year??? www.telethon.ie/event_tri.asp
