Hi Andy Think you might be to late for the first wave. Apparently it sold out in 20mins. Check the site as it will tell you when the next wave is being launched. However a note of warning, apparently entries opened 20 mins before they said it would and as a result it was full by 0805 when in fact it was only supposed to open at 0800. I would highly recommend the race in Athy www.triathy.com at the end of May.. Their are at least 10-12 members doing it and it caters for Sprint or Olympic distance. Any qs give me a shout. GD

Hi Gerry,
I think that there are still some spaces left for the Joey Hannon. I've just registered for the 'Try a Tri' event. It does seem to be selling out quickly though as there's a lot less spaces than when I first checked it this morning. I think it may have been the Hell of the West that sold out in 20 minutes.
I'll probably do the Tri Athy as well but I wanted to enter an event with a pool swim for my first event and couldn't get into the Fingal Sprint as it was booked out.
So thats 2 events I've registered for now (inc. the Jealous Wall). If I hadn't met you at the Turbothon this would never have happened.
;D.

Just started with the club last night myself and signed up for the try a tri event as my first triathlon. Was just wondering do most people just book into a local B&B the night before cause id imagine travelling down that morning would be a bit much?

In actual fact most people will travel to and from the event the same day unless 1. It is in excess of 2 hours drive 2. Is an early start
Even with Castlewellan which is in Newry we all did it up and down the same day.
All depends on the individual I guess and how far away the event is.

Glad to hear that there's going to be a few people down from the club, and that Gerry only expects us to place in the top 20 so I can relax my training a bit. I was thinking about staying in a B&B the night before as I can't see driving me there that morning for an early start.
