MembershipThanks to all who have submitted membership forms for ’09 If you have not done so please get them in as soon as possible as we will be refreshing the texting list, e-mail distribution, training sessions accordingly by the end of February. Link to membership form www.midlandtri.com/Membership%20Form.htm
Midland Tri Club Open Day Just a reminder that the Club’s Open day for the curious, the brave and …… those who might just want a cuppa and a chat is ON. Saturday 14th Feb (romantic or wha?) Annebrook hotel from 2pm. Can all Club members intending on helping out arrive a little early and wear your club hoodies!!! Contact Killian or Gerry for details.
It’s also important to note that we want club members to try and bring along a friend who might be curious about Tri. If they have questions, we will have the answers. There’s no pressure to sign up on the day!
Club RaceIt was mentioned at the AGM that we should designate a club race this year and get as many of the club to sign up, go along and have the crack (as well as get some national series points!). Club race this year is Try-Athy www.triathy.com/ May 30th. Reported to be Irelands fastest triathlon course it should prove to be a ‘Personal Best’ Busting Extravaganza!!! The event offers both sprint and olympic races on the day so should suit a lot of folks in the club. So sign up, compete and show yourself that all that training during these wintry evenings is put to good use. (Note places are filling up fast so don’t doddle too long on this one).
New Cycling Club in ClonardMessage from club member Alan Maye that he is taking membership for those interested in joining the rejuvenated Clonard Road Club. Might suit folks living out that side of the country.
For membership details and times of spins etc please contact Alan on 087 9923409
Spring Spin 2009Message from Katherine Kenny (Lakeside Wheelers) . Spring Spin takes place April 18th and 19th 09. Details are on attached information leaflet. The spins offer both long distance and a family outing over that weekend.
Race Around IrelandFor those of you interested in long distance cycling I’ve attached a flyer forwarded by Navan Road Club regarding a Cycle race around Ireland. Not for the faint hearted! The event appears to be sanctioned by the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association.
