Just a short email to heap significant congratulations to all the people involved in yesterdays CK Tri.
How poignant it was also that it should coincide with the start of the Olympics, one that Caroline Kearney would almost certainly have been participating in.
I know Pat Nugent is a great acknowledger of such achievements but I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon to say how proud I was to witness such professionals in action yesterday. Having participated in a good few events over the past few years yesterdays organisation was up there if not surpassing the best of them.
Not fair to individually mention those in authority but we know and they know exactly who they are. As that very handsome guy on the mic at the finish line said ...
a big Buala Bas to all concerned...!!! ;D ;D

On behalf of the race committee, Iwant to send everyone a massive thank you for all your help over the last few days in helping put on CK Tri 08 this year. the enormous commitment shown by everyone who turned out was massively appreciated and makes events like this possible.
An email seems totally insufficient, and the any words sound a bit hollow, for the amount of time given up by everyone and the effort they gave, but
THANK YOU ! !

Just to further add to Gerry's note although he covered it very well. A comment to everyone from John Cunniffe (The Timing Guy!) . When I gave him the final registration file with all the names updated he said that Midland Tri were on the "Top end of organised" . I think coming from a guy that sees a lot of these big events that is a nice compliment.
I am a pround member of the Club!!!.

I would also like to thank everyone envolved in the CK race, it being my first olympic distance race (and definitely not my last), im still on a high from it, didnt take much get me drunk on sat night, have vague memories of tequila shots and the Final Fence in my head?!?!?! but all in all the whole event was a major success, dont think even snow or gail force winds would of stopped the race from going ahead, from speaking to anyone who competed everyone involved really enjoyed it. Also myself and Tanya would like to wish again best of luck to Phil and whole family in their new home, didnt get to say goodbye before we left Cons on sat, (well not sure if we did or not, i blame the Guinness) but wont be long till you are back in the rain and miserable weather of Ireland again, you'll get bored of constant sun and sandy beaches soon enough, mark my words Phil!!! A word from some of the competitors;
Just a quick note to say well done on an absolutley fantastic event. From someone new to triathlons, I cannot emphasise enough, what a little word of encouragement does. Every marshall on the course was hugely positive with a smile on their face and full of encouragement. Sometimes it's easy to forget that most of these volunteers give up hours of their time in all sorts of conditions to help out. It is without doubt one of the best organised events that I have done so far. Thank you.
