Below is a message that some of you have received through the harriers; Further to numerous discussion with numerous people about numerous events next year, I think its time to start taking action. From now on I propose we meet on Sundays at Belvedere at 11.00am for our long runs. I have included as many people as I have emails for with this message, can some of you look through and pass onto other members please. The list includes all types of runners the fast and faster with a few triathletes thrown in there for good measure..... groups will form as time goes on. Not everyone will be attending, this will take time to grow but if you are looking for motivation and encouragement to improve/get back in shape/ get PBs etc. I would urge you to make Sunday morning your long run day.... Thats it.... I will be pushing this for the next few weeks to promote numbers and again would encourage you to do the same. Brian

Hi Doug,
At the moment, fo me..20 mins is a long run. But a long run should be at least an hour.... maybe start off at 45 mins for a couple of weeks. The key to the long run is to finish and still feel like you could go on. If you cant go on you probably are running too fast.
