Hey Dave,I'm sure everyone has different opinion's on pasta, from what i know white pasta and rice have most of the goodness gone out of them, brown pasta and rice doesn't,they have recently moved down the food pyramid with nutritionist's now realizing they had it wrong,a very good book on all this is' the abs diet it explains in very good detail and the writer is also the editor of men's health magazine. But i think your safe enough with brown pasta, hope this helps.

Best of all is "SPELT" pasta and "SPELT" bread, its even better than the wholegrain versions. Its the easiest for the body to break down and digest. You can get spelt pasta in Nuts and grains health shop and Buckleys sells spelt bread. Houmous is lovely on the bread and super for triathletes and also pesto on the pasta is great.....and dont be put off about the high fat content of houmous and pesto is the good fats which we need.

Hi all
We are doing a cycly very early Good Friday morning from Mullingar to Carrick On Shannon on the bike and gone for 7am. Leaving from the Covert Bar Car Park in Ballinafid.
According to Lance Wade who did this a few weeks ago it is approx 130KM and takes approx 4.5 to 5 hours. At the moment the weather people (what would they know) are predicting snow, howling wind, and driving rain. But what the hell we have already had that for the past 2 saturdays so no excuses for not being there.
Dor, Philip Lance and Doug are definites at this point. All most most most welcome.
Bring the umbrellas, handwarmers, sun tan cream, thermals, handcuffs..sorry, gloves, (sorry Doug) vests, more vests, extra socks, spare clothes, girlfriends, husbands, mistresses, blow up dolls !!!
See you there...
