Surprised Doug hasnt started this thread already. Guess he's concentrating on keeping one step ahead of Phil in the training stakes! Was looking at the TI page and reading Tara's Iron diary - she's on the three week cycle, check out www.triathlonireland.com/article.php?story=20080211081647546Also, she did two half-ironman races in 8 days!!! Ha... I wonuld not miss that one. Read the updates every day on Tara. She does a 20K run at an average of 13.1kph if there is a test on it :-) ... But I am a nice guy and forward them to Doug.. Mind you , I have not been getting the swimming tips off him of late. Starting to think he actually believed me when I said even I come out of the water 20 minutes after him I might actually catch him on the bike :-) ..... if you cannot win with muscle strength , play with the mind !!!!

For those of you taking part in Bala Half IM I got info from the organisers on nutrition on the day. Basically...there's is't much!!! Plan for the race is there’s a bottle drop approx 48km into the bike where you can pick up High 5 and water then for the run there’s High5 and water every 5km or so. Looks like bars/gels you bring yourself. Think Phil said he'd take care of the Champagne! Brian I

Well now that you ask, I completed a full blown super ironmonster competition only last week. We started off in granard and had pints there with the byes for sixteen hours solid, which was followed off with ridin' a few mots from eggerstown. The following morning we had the fry went to mass and played a junior b league match after the dinner.
Bate that.

Dear Maingimp,
I do not want to be the internet police. This messageboard was set up for the benefit of fellow club members to interact in a friendly environment. I cannot help but feel that some of the content of your messages are less than tasteful and should be saved for pub talk/banter and not an open forum like this one.

Thank you.

Byes,
The Koala Munchers don't do Half Ironmans. That's why they bate us like a shower of hairderssers in the Compromise rules last year. Would Francie Bellew ate Half a mixed grill?
