Well done in Cavan Colm. Sorry couldn't hang around till the end to see the lung collapsing thing, but Hannah was fed up and cold so started loosing the plot and we had to go.
Well done also to other triathletes competing amongst the runners (don't think they noticed you!). The cross country will definetly progress the running over the winter. Particular Triathlete performances on the day were Marie Triona Keane who came 4th in the National Novice womens race, and not forgetting good runs by Mary Daly, Nuala Moran, Breda Daly and Alwin (?).

Just in case you take the good advice of David on the phone be sure to wrap it and your wallet up in a little sandwich bag, do not just hope it will stay dry in your back pocket . While your cycle computer can possibly take the rain and the wind of the cut (although mine did not cope last year, the water leaked in and killed it) , your phone will not do so well in your back pocket soaking for a few hours, I know ! . Another addition to the cycle shoe covers (which I have and would not go out without) is to get a couple of plastic shopping bags (well, they still give them out in israel) and put them on over your socks before putting on your shoes. this is a sure guarantee against the rain and wind and will make the ride a little more pleasant.
