TI are running their first Junior Academy Training Day (10-19yrs) on the 2nd of February in Greystones, Co Wicklow. There will be subsequent training days dotted around the country throughout 2014.

About the Junior Academy
The Junior Academy caters for 10 to 19 year olds offering coached training days and ongoing support and mentoring. The initial training days are open to all levels from those seeking their first taste of triathlon or duathlon to the more experienced athlete wishing to make the step up to the National Junior Squad.

A typical Academy Day Schedule
The training days will cover the whole spectrum of triathlon with swim, bike and run training, skills and fitness assessment, strength & conditioning, fundamental movement, technique, nutrition and training principles.

9:15 – 9:45 Presentation
10:00 - 11:30 Run Session / Drills
11:30 – 12:50 Strength & Conditioning
12:50 - 13:30 Lunch
13:30 – 14:45 Bike Session / Skills
14:45 - 15:15 Break / Coaching Advice
15:30 – 16:45 Swim Session / Drills
17:00 – 17:30 Q&A / Take home message
Equipment
Swim: Swim suit, cap, goggles, swim equipment, towel.
Bike: Bike, helmet, shoes, cycling clothes, water bottle.
Run: Runners, running clothes.
Other: Packed lunch, snacks, drink, change of clothes, rain gear.
