Swim league cancelled

Hi all due to work been carried out at lough owel diving the boards tomorrow nights swim is cancelled which means last week was the last week of the swim league,thanks to all who took part and thanks to all who helped out,results for the season will be posted next week.

Works at Diving Board, Portnashangan

In 2013, the Members of Westmeath County Council allocated funding for the upgrade of facilities at The Diving Board in Portnashangan. The works will include:-



Demolition of former changing rooms;
Removal of old collapsed jetty;
Improvements to steps and walkways;
Provision of two new picnic tables.



In order to take advantage of the current low lake water level which will facilitate machinery access along the foreshore, it is intended to commence works on Thursday, 5th September 2013.



The car park and viewing area will remain open, however there will be no access to the lakeshore over the Railway Bridge.



Westmeath County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
