Hi all you runners out there,
Can you all return to the Harriers running club soon! I was up there last Tuesday for a jog around and also to get some social interaction.... I ended up talking to myself especiall towards the end of my run as all the super fast people had left me for dead early on! Where are all the regulars?? I understand that Belvedere will be closing from 6.oopm from this week onwards so will you consider coming back to the Harriers now for the winter months for the craic. We will divide up the evenings into two different session, one easy run and one tempo session and remember these sessions can be done in big groups and will be suitable for all abilities so if you are new to this lark please do not feel that it will not suit your ability!
Hope to see you all soon!
Caroline

Hi Conor,
You have to be a member to run with the Harriers (Insurance etc) but if you want to see how it suits you you can join some of the group runs for a couple of weeks and see how you like it.
The membership is to cover the costs of running the club - grounds/clubhouse etc/pay insurances to Athletics Ireland and it also has an added bonus allowing access to Belvedere on Sunday morning (this is at an annual cost to Mullingar Harrier Club).... so all in all the €80 is good value.
There is no doubt that joing the club is a excellent opportunity to improve your running and with the upcoming cross country on the way you can really bring it to the next level.......... on that note; On All Ireland Sunday in lieu of the usual Sunday morning long run in Belvedere the club plans to run in Croghan Hill (fuller detail including spelling of same to be confirmed). This is an extreme hill of the cross country variety and will be used specifically for a hill running session. If you have not done this before I'd highly recommend it - you will HATE it!!!

So it's just a matter of turning up with your runners and shorts and running? Do most of the Midland Tri do those runs?

It's as simple as that! and yes, a lot of Midlanders run with the Harriers, becoming quite a force in it too.
