Dear All,
Again, I'm sending out a notice seeking the assistance of anyone who can spare their time to help out with the upcoming Midland Triathlon Club event " Caroline Kearney Triathlon" on Saturday 9th August in Lilliput Adventure Centre, 12pm. As a lot of you know this was a very successful event last year and with all the hard work your fellow clubmates on the race committee have been putting in it promises to be even better this year. We have a high quality field attending and as always would like to put on a good show.
From initial estimates we require 38 marshals - detail of locations/duties will be forwarded when a list can be drafted. Can those who can assist please post here or email Killian at cktriathlon@gmail.com.
As what is now becoming a bit of a tradition we expect to hold the Marshals race the evening before hand so when volunteering you might add if you intend to do the Marshal race..... as we expect a good gang to do this please note we will be applying full TI rules and regulations (details of prizes etc to be announced).

Thanks Dor, Yvonne, Brian. You've just guaranteed yoursleves a nice shiny new CK tri '08 t-shirt!!!! (that's the carrot on the stick right there) Any other Club members out there around on the 9th Aug and interested in supporting your club event? The race is full now by the way so huge interest from around the country in this one. All Marshals will have the opportunity to take part in our marshals race the friday evening before the main event so let me know if your interested in taking part in that. Thanks

Brian I, or whoever is in the know,
has the route for this years race been finalised? I was told the cycle and run routes were changing from last year.....but I wasn't really taking in what I was being told due to tiredness after running in the heat (sorry Doug).
It'd be handy to know the course and go over it once or twice before the race itself so if anybody can give details on the race route please do.

Colm, Cycle route is as per website. Run route has changed but Killian should be updating this on the website. It's a 10km out and back taking in part of the Westmeath Way near Lilliput. Nice run. Road surface all the way but a little un-even in parts.
As of today we are still in need of approx 30 folks to help out on the day. Please let me know if you are free sat 9th to help out. Thanks in advance, Brian I

Do u guys require kayak support?? I will be willing to kayak support for the stewards and official race, as long as i can also take part in the stewards race!!! Will take the maximum handicap!!!
