Hi Brian,
Would it be possible for you to put up a post on your website with the information below, or send an email to your members?
Ever dreamt of Olympic gold? Ever wanted to know how you would fare against world class Olympians in your sport? Now is your chance…
As part of the Gatorade Dublin City Triathlon on the 24th of August, an Olympic Dream Relay Team, will race against the clock with Paddy Power donating €1000 to the Irish Cancer Society for every minute that they achieve under an agreed time limit
The team comprises of three Olympians
1500 metre Swim leg - Chantal Gibney (Swimming: Sydney 2000);
40km cycle leg - Ciaran Power (Cycling: Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004);
10km run leg - Catherina McKiernan (Running: Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996 & Irish female marathon record holder)
So if you know of friends from running/cycling/running/triathlon clubs that would be up for this – please put a relay team together and get involved in a great challenge….
This is a unique opportunity to compare your race times with genuine Olympians on race day as all relay teams will receive a specialized printout (suitable for framing) of their official splits for your individual team members compared against our Olympians.
There is also the added incentive of winning the relay prize – as the Olympic Dream team is only competing to raise money for charity and as such, will not be eligible for great prizes on offer for the winners
If you are stuck for finding numbers to make up a full relay team – please drop a mail to steven@stevenmoodyconsulting.com and he will assist you in getting touch with other potential relay members.
Thanks for you time,
Liz Lee,
DCT Race Committee

The Gatorade Dublin City Triathlon is open for registration. This race is the largest Olympic distance triathlon in the Irish race calendar and is widely considered to be Dublin ’s premier triathlon. Registration has opened early this year both to avoid disappointment and to encourage participation at all levels of triathlon by giving plenty of preparation time for race day.
All entrants will be entered in a draw to win an Aqua Sphere XP wetsuit to the value of €300, and on race day there will be spot prizes of individual coaching sessions. A relay team of Olympians will be racing for charity (not prizes) and participants will be able to compare their times against the dream team to see how they compare!
The 2008 Race will be held on the 24th of August and Entries will be via Active Europe for the same price as last year (€50). For entry go to the following link:
www.activeeurope.com/Events/index.cfm?AC=EventDetails&E=59313
For more information about the race (a video outline of the course will also be available here shortly) please see the link below:

Due to the size of the race we require a large number of volunteers, so if any of your club members would like to volunteer rather than race you can inform them that this will guarantee them free entry to next year’s race!
Thanks for you time,
