Hi there, greetings from the pleasant Bala town land. By the way, did Doug mention there were hills here ! Actually, pretty nice town, very quaint and nice scenery, delighted we came over for a couple of days to hang out. Was a bit distressed yesterday , I think i had my first day off the internet in 10 years but it is a Wifi town so we finally got an internet pass. ..... yippi ...... The lake swim last night was really nice, it is like glass .. looking forward to more midlanders coming over now.... By the way.. Did Doug mention there were hills here. We managed 80kph this morning on one of them, it was good fun and the road surface is very good for the cycle which makes it marginally safer for mad people

hey all at Bala , just a note to wish you all the very best tomorrow.
Was out swimming with gerry duffy this evening and no sign of my pink towel afterwards. You didnt take it ( again) with you to Bala Conor, did you?
Just to clarify events the other evening
a. that towel was white and got mixed with my red thong in the wash and turned pink (nice thought, eh?) b. My wife doesnt pack my lunches, ever!
All the best anyway!

Incredible achievement and huge congrats to all that took part!! But, who left Brian to do the race on his own, I see that Vera, Paul and Nicky must have run round together at the end, you'd think someone would have held Brian's hand?? After all the talk, how were the hills??

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you that travelled to Bala to support us, your words of encouragement at very appropriate spots around the course was huge motivation to drive us on especially on the hills!! This event made a brilliant club trip, anyone who may be considering it for next year do not hesitate as you are guaranteed to enjoy. Thanks again to all and well done to all who competed and completed!!

Well done everyone - a great result for everyone personally , and also great for the club profile.
Is it true that the swim was uphill too??

The Moment many of you were waiting for. I did not have much time today (actually had to work despite what the rest of you think i do!) but here are the pics, I pulled from 4 cameras , it is un-edited (roughly, pulled out some --> what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas as they say .. I made 3 categories to speed things up, Before, During and After. During is long so let the thumbnails download. They are in basic format, no time for fancy stuff this time. Of course, we would have none of these without our support team , Brian, KAthleen , Jean, Nicole and Jamie. Nicole our chief Videographer is working on video highlights so that should be out in a week or so. I will try to bring some CD's of the original pics to the Aquathon as some of you may want the full resolution etc.... follow the link www.philipjwade.com/triathlon/bala_update.htm oh, and to answer Enda. My arguement to Anthony is that no matter where he goes the water is flat, the bikiing and runnig changes everywhere . He had some lame story about water flow and direction but I was not getting it !!
